MAJ (R) Santiago is from the island of Puerto Rico where he received his High School diploma in 1992. Shortly after HS graduation, he joined the United States Army as an enlisted Soldier and commissioned in 2003 as a Second Lieutenant through the Officer Candidate School. He served a total of 24 years. During his time in the Army, he traveled the world and served in numerous key positions to include Assistant Professor of Military Science at the University of Puerto Rico where he was named Professor of the Year for the school year 2011-2012. He also served as a Senior Advisor to the US Ambassador in the US Embassy in Guatemala. During his time at the Embassy, he had the opportunity to meet and work with key US and foreign Government officials such as the US Vice President, Secretary of Homeland Security, Secretary of State and many others. He served in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom as well as Korea and many other locations worldwide. Some of his awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award and the Army Superior Unit Award. He is married with 2 daughters. He has a passion to help others and believes Education and parent involvement is fundamental in our children’s development. In his spare time he likes to work out. He has a Master's Degree in Business Administration with concentration in Human Resources Management. Born and raised in El Paso, Texas in July 1957. Attended high school at Andress High School, graduated in 1975. Worked and attended UTEP until enlisting into the US Army in August of 1978. Served the Army for 20 years, served as an Executive Secretary. Her state side assignments tours included Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Overseas assignments were Korea, Fort Richardson and Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Upon retirement in 1998, worked for Army Community Services as the assistant Relocation Manager, Fort Bliss, Texas. She has been the Assistant Army Instructor for Junior Reserve Officers Training Course at Eastwood High School since 2001.
Sergeant First Class Hunter has a Bachelors Degree in Social Psychology, and is currently working on her Master's in Psychology. She believes that every student has a Dream and it is her responsibility to help them unlock that dream.
