Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) is a coeducational program intended to motivate high school students to become better citizens. JROTC is modeled after the military structure in order to infuse in its student cadets a sense of discipline and order.

The Eastwood High School JROTC program (The Trooper Battalion) was established in 1964. Since that time The Eastwood Trooper Battalion has established a tradition of excellence having been recognized repeatedly and currently as an Army JROTC Honor Unit with Distinction.
